After graduating from Sandford Fleming College with a Massage Therapy diploma, Nancy initially registered as a massage therapist in 2002. She worked in various settings in southern Ontario until 2016 when she graduated with a diploma in Recreational Therapy. Nancy transitioned to working in mental health and addictions as a recreational therapist for the last 8 years. She primarily worked with adults diagnosed on the Schizophrenia spectrum. She also has experience working with depression and anxiety. Nancy recently relocated to Ottawa for improved quality of life.
Nancy’s belief in the transformative power of movement is not just a professional stance but a personal commitment. Her experience in leading and facilitating group fitness, as evidenced by her L1 CrossFit Trainer certificate held between 2013- 2019, is a testament to this. She has attended several functional movement seminars hosted by Agatsu Fitness, further deepening her understanding of the subject. As a recreational therapist, she developed and implemented fitness programs for deconditioned adults and/or had cognitive impairment barriers to fitness. Her dedication to her movement diet of powerlifting and cycling is a living example of her belief that movement is medicine.
Nancy is passionate about overall wellness and improving the quality of lives of others. She believes that mental health is as important as physical health. Her varied experiences lend to a compassionate and caring approach. She believes that when a person feels heard, they can heal. She looks forward to assisting you in improving your quality of life.
